One of two recent works of fiction based on Greene’s life. This novel by Alexandra Lapierre, an author who has written many novels featuring historical women as protagonists, was originally written in French. Recently translated into English by Tina Kover, the book provides a dramatized retelling of Greene’s life, beginning in 1898 when her family was living in New York and began to pass as white.
