Chiromancy, or palmistry,  is the art of reading a person’s palm and is one of the most common methods of divination or looking into the future. The palm in a circle is a reference to this practice, which involves interpreting the lines on a palm to find information about a person’s life. The symbols on the hand are planetary symbols, referring to the seven then-known planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun, and the Moon). Each of the planets denotes a mount, a raised area that indicates the presence of certain personality traits.
