“Women, Earth, and the Glory of God”
1995
Clearly needed are new paradigms, said Elizabeth Johnson, that reconfigure the mystery of God, humanity, and the earth in new, interconnected patterns of relationships, new language and understandings, and a fundamental move from an anthropocentric to a cosmocentric worldview. Her lecture dealt with the theology of creation as it has been skewed by patriarchal dominance and aims for widening feminist theological understandings of justice to include the natural world.
