“Dancing with Chaos: Reconfigurations of Order, Truth and Goodness in the Quest for Social Justice”

1993
Sharon Welch concluded her lecture with the thought of “the possibility that chaos can be danced with rather than being something that destroys us and saps our energies and brings to naught our work for social change, the vision of what it can mean to work for social change in full awareness of the way in which we are trapped in the systems of oppression that we are trying to dismantle. We find the taproot, the source of our vitality, what enables us to keep living, working, hoping, as we experienced error and profound defeat.”
