In her lecture, Sister Joan Chittister indicated how Jesus promoted the humanity and equality of women: “Jesus taught women, spoke to women in public, raised the status of women from chattel, and made women disciples and evangelists. Jesus used a feminine image when he compared the kingdom of God to a woman searching for a lost coin."
