Maturing into Full Recognition
In 1976, Jo Clare Wilson, coordinator of the Office of Women's Concerns (OWC), wrote: "It will be a good day when we no longer need a specific office to deal with women's concerns. But we must recognize the fact that that day is not in the near future." The OWC sponsored the Antoinette Brown Lectures through 2017, at which time Jo Clare's vision came to fruition. The OWC became dormant due to the changing needs and interests of students. But the importance of the Lectures remains, evidenced by the commitment of the Divinity Dean to step in to make the lecturer selection after that time.
