The Columbian Exposition of 1893 celebrated the 400th anniversary of Columbus's first voyage, and this cookbook was produced to reflect the unique qualities of American cooking. Each recipe was contributed by one of the "Lady Managers" of the exposition, along with reproductions of their signatures and photographs.
