Concordia

In Roman mythology, Concordia is the goddess of communal peace, of order–the divine personification of harmony. I used this imagery for the second movement of Crescere Aude for two reasons: first with the hope of creating a unifying thread for the larger musical work; and secondly as a connection to what lies at the heart of the “Dare to Grow” campaign: that human beings are at their best when they seek societal harmony not through coercion or even necessary agreement but through epitomizing the audacity to learn from each other.
