Laura James

James, a self-taught artist, draws on the iconic Ethiopian style, infusing her paintings with energy and passion. Her groundbreaking work on biblical texts and African spirituality celebrates her African American heritage and the power of women. James’s commissioned works, including The Stations of the Resurrection, highlight how Mary Magdalene and other female disciples played a role in the early church.
