James K. Polk and George M. Dallas served as the 11th President and Vice President of the United States of America, serving from 1845 to 1849. This campaign broadside is from the 1844 campaign. The Democratic ticket championed the annexation of Texas and the westward expansion of the country to the Pacific Ocean.

In 1844, Polk was serving as the Speaker of the House, and Dallas was a longtime diplomat and former mayor of Philadelphia. They defeated the Whig ticket of Henry Clay and Theodore Frelinghuysen in a close race.
