The Sopping Thursday is unique among other works by Gorey. A dog on the hunt for a missing umbrella meets a thief, an endangered child, and weeping salesclerks, among others. One of the few books to feature a happy ending, the book features minimalist text with Gorey’s iconic black and white line drawings.
