Hidden Humans of Vanderbilt
While a foundational part of Vanderbilt University, the stories of many early staff members who dedicated their lives to Vanderbilt University are seldom known or told. In its third decade, Vanderbilt saw the hiring of staff members like “Miss Annie” Bromwell, who served as secretary for medical school faculty members for 63 years. Along with staff members like James “Cap” Alley, John “Uncle Remus” Fulton, and George Keeble, these hidden humans of Vanderbilt continued to serve throughout Vanderbilt’s third decade and for decades to come, shaping campus life and the institution at large.
