Erosophian Quartet
1911
The Erosophian Society, likely from the Latin, "love of wisdom," was a student-run literary society active at Peabody College in the early 20th century. Students were required to write and present on current issues, much like the literary societies at Vanderbilt. This photo, captured in 1911, shows four members, from left to right: Roscoe Lanier Thomas, Ben H. Nicholson, Claud C. Sands, and Joel M. Barnes.
