The bare block walls of the room are decorated with drawings; exposed light bulbs, a pot-bellied stove and simple pews reflect the hard scrabble nature of life.  Corn writes, \u201cHe preached as if he had a hundred people in the church. The small church would only hold about 50 people if it were packed, but that did not deter him. He was a fine man, driving over the mountain from his home in Lafollette to preach several times a week.
