This photograph shows Ladybird Johnson, wife of Lyndon B. Johnson, accompanied by two Vietnam War veterans who were injured in battle. This commemorative photograph was taken at Fort Davis where a monument was constructed to honor all veterans injured during the war. The monument did not silence public concerns or resolve the situation.
