John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert Kennedy were all assassinated in the span of five years (1963-1968) and seen as martyrs for a progressive, American cause. The flyer emphasizes the need for Americans to affirm the founding dream of “liberty and justice and equality for all” to ensure these three leaders did not die in vain. Violence following the 1968 assassinations, however, fueled a conservative push for “law and order,” contesting progress of the Civil Rights Movement.
