Reading Between the Lines:
The Central Library From Cover to Cover

The library has been a part of the university’s core services since 1873. Since then, the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries have grown to a system consist of nine interconnected campus libraries, which have long been a cornerstone of campus life for research, study, teaching, and collaboration. The photographs in this exhibit commemorate the contributions of Central library to the life of the Vanderbilt campus over the decades, from the 1940s to the present.
