2012 – “Love Abyss: Preaching Desire in the Thirteenth and Twenty-First Centuries” delivered by Amy Hollywood

Dr. Hollywood is the Elizabeth H. Monrad Professor of Christian Studies at the Harvard Divinity School. She earned a B.A. From Bryn Mawr College in Religion and a Masters in religious studies and doctorate in theology from the University of Chicago. She has been teaching at the Harvard Divinity School since 2005. Her work focuses on philosophy of religion, feminist and gender studies, and religion and literature and their intersections. She co-authored her most recent book, Devotion: Three Inquiries in Religion, Literature, and Political Imagination (2021) with Constance M. Furey and Sarah Hammerschlag. She also authored The Soul as Virgin Wife: Mechthild of Magdeburg, Marguerite Porete, and Meister Eckhart (1995), Sensible Ecstasy: Mysticism, Sexual Difference, and the Demands of History (2002), and Acute Melancholia and Other Essays (2016).
