[Life Saving Class in Swimming Pool in the Basement of the Social Religious Building]

The swimming pool in the basement of the Social Religious Building was original with the building. A notice in the 1915 Vanderbilt Alumnus Magazine reads: “One of the privileges that Vanderbilt students enjoy from the affiliation with George Peabody College for Teachers is the use of the large swimming pool.”
