Isabella Beeton (1836-1865) was one of the most popular Victorian cookbook authors, and she set the standard for middle-class household management. After her death at the age of 28, her cookbooks continued to be published under her name. Like Glasse, Beeton has been accused of plagiarizing many of her recipes.
