Kirkland Hall

This snapshot taken during the College Hall fire of 1905 shows a small crowd gathered near the burning building. A horse-drawn fireengine can be seen at the far right while the foreground is littered with books and papers from the building. The shell of the building stood for nearly a year while fundraising for a new building was underway. In fall 1906, new walls were built on top of the original exterior brickwork, and new interior walls and floors were constructed inside the shell of the original building.
