“Cabbage”

Edgar Winningham, a mule driver in the mines, buys cabbage at the local store in the small, unincorporated mining community of Crawford in Overton County, Tennessee. Winningham has just come from a day’s work in the mines. Mules were used to pull cars loaded with coal out of the mines and were also used on the surface to haul the cars.
