At the scene of a mine disaster in Brimstone Mountain in Scott County, Tennessee, on May 24, 1965, Scott County Sherriff Jack Laxton administers oxygen to rescue worker Edker Hunnicutt. Hunnicutt was overcome by the poisonous gas. His father, George Hunnicutt, waits anxiously.
