Dard Hunter, a venerated figure in the world of papermaking, devoted his life and his resources to learning about this craft and its history and techniques. Hunter established mills and presses in New York and Ohio and authored over 20 books on the subject. This biography by Cathleen Baker explores all aspects of his life and work. The book is printed on hand made paper from the Twinrocker Mill in Brookston, Indiana, founded by Kathryn and Howard Clark. The press work was done by the Red Hydra Press out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, one of many small presses committed to publishing unique artists’ books. The papers of the end sheets were made using Dard Hunter’s Bull’s Head and Branch watermarked mould.
