Creativity and Passion
As a dancer and choreographer, Edelmira created dances based on historic research, mythologies, and oral histories of enslaved and indigenous people. As a Maestra, she was exacting as she taught and directed her troupe’s performances. As a visual artist she created art and text for dance programs, posters, and publicity, first for her mother’s performances and later for those she directed. Her lectures and presentations were passionate, informed, and lively. Her poetry soulful. Recent exhibitions in Colombia have showcased her colorful paintings. This section illustrates her passion and the diversity of her talents through choreography, art, poetry, lectures, presentations, performances, and teaching.
