History of Medicine Collections

An extraordinarily bright and sturdy example of paper made in the late 15th century, this book, translated into Latin from the Arabic by Gerard of Cremona, includes medical tracts by Rhazes, Maimonides, Hippocrates, Avenzohar, and others.

The watermark on the paper of this book is a balance scale within a circle which Charles Briquet in his reference work on watermarks attributes to a mill in Venice operating from 1494 until 1503.
