[Laying of the Corner-stone of Wesley Hall]
Three years after the death of the founder, Cornelius Vanderbilt, the cornerstone of Wesley Hall was laid at a ceremony attended by Tennessee governors, the University Board of Trust, faculty, students, and visitors. Among the materials deposited in the cornerstone were images of the late Cornelius Vanderbilt and his wife. Frank continued her relationship with the university after her husband’s death, taking on the responsibility as her husband would have wished.
