School catalogs such as this were required reading for students, who often had to pay for their copy. It was the handbook for navigating through the school, including such important information as the faculty, trustees, history, classes, academic calendar and fellow classmates of the University of Nashville. It also includes the tuition and boarding fees that the enrolled students had to pay each semester. If you look carefully you can see that the owner was most likely a student who has marked specific classes he has taken (or hopes to take).
