Alumni

Impressive Alumni The University of Nashville prided itself on its alumni. From the beginning, the institution sought to mold its students into future political leaders. The majority of graduates held public office as senators, representatives, legislators, judges, military officers, and even as governors. Alumni also found success in other occupations. Alumnus Wickliffe Rose, the owner of the medallion and pocket watch case, became a University of Nashville professor and even served as a dean for his alma mater and Peabody College. Later, as general agent for the George Peabody Education Fund and member of the Rockefeller General Education Board, Rose expanded educational opportunities in the South.
