This final Psmith novel is also the second book set at Blandings Castle. Wodehouse’s adopted daughter Leonora requested he write one more Psmith book, and Wodehouse dedicated the book to her. The plot of the novel involves romantic intrigues and a missing necklace. Psmith’s name is changed from Rupert to Robert Eustace Psmith, possibly to avoid confusion with another character in the book called Rupert.
