Blandings Castle

Blandings Castle is the fictional locale of a collection of humorous books and short stories by famed British author P.G. Wodehouse. Home of the kind but absent-minded Lord Emsworth, the castle is the primary residence of many of his family members. It is the setting for nine short stories and 11 novels produced between 1915 and 1975. The series is renowned for its eccentric characters, witty prose, and intricate plots. The Empress of Blandings—the prize-winning pig owned by Lord Emsworth—is featured in several of the novels and short stories as Emsworth’s competitors resort to staff poaching and pig-knapping to prevent the Empress’ next win at the local Shropshire Agricultural Show. Other series plot twists include cases of mistaken identity and romantic entanglements that wreak havoc on the castle’s denizens.
