Trump and Biden’s debate changed the landscape of this medium. Biden was prepared to combat mostly personal attacks instead of debating over policy choices, with a mission to just tell the truth. Debates and attacks between candidates were broadcasted through other mediums every day, slowly shifting the purpose of debates.
