The popularity of Wodehouse’s Jeeves and Wooster books led 20th Century Fox studios to adopt the Jeeves character for a 1937 film, Step Lively, Jeeves. The film bears little resemblance to Wodehouse’s creation. The author was unimpressed by this adaptation of his work, but the film’s success attests to the popularity of his works.
