The 1917 musical theater production, Leave It to Jane, was based on the 1904 play The College Widow by George Ade.  Written by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse with music by Jerome Kern, the production debuted at Longacre Theater in 1917 and received enthusiastic reviews.  An off-Broadway revival in 1959 ran for over 900 performances, and the play is still occasionally staged.
