The Clicking of Cuthbert is a collection of ten short stories about golf.  Originally published in a variety of magazines between 1919 and 1922, they were first collected in book form in the U.K. in 1922.  A U.S. edition was published under the title Golf Without Tears in 1924.  Wodehouse adapted both editions to the country of publication by using character names, locations and famous golfers familiar to the readers in each nation.  Stories from the book have been adapted for film, radio, and theater productions.
