“Nixon Runs Ahead”

Nixon is depicted running away from a larger-than-life microphone representing the new phenomenon of nationally televised debates. Nixon was ill-prepared for this new form of campaigning and even years later after his first debate in 1960, he was still trying to escape this medium in his own election year.
